Went through a recruiter. The recruiter was fine. Hexagon was desperate because they needed to apparently fill 25 positions for an entry-level GIS Analyst position. I was excited. Despite the bad reviews of the company, I was also desperate.
The job listing said they were looking for minimal to no experience to fill this position. A degree in Geography was required. I have a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience with a concentration in Geography and Meteorology. Technically, yes I did in fact have a degree with experience to boot.
Couple weeks, I felt great. Almost certain I had the job since millions of recruiters were looking to fill all 25 positions. My recruiter calls me last week.
"They said you did not meet the experience or degree requirements."
Huh? So the 25 positions for an entry-level position wasn't as dire after all? Hmm. Interesting. I disagree. I had the experience and the degree necessary for a position. Also, do not list a job as entry-level if you are required to have experience. That's not how entry-level jobs work. That's kind of the entire point of having entry-level positions. To get experience. You know?
Yeah. I dodged a massive bullet with this company. Do not bother with them. It is not worth your time or energy.
