The interview process involved multiple rounds and extensive discussions. However, throughout the process, there appeared to be a lack of clarity regarding the role, expectations, reporting structure, and success metrics. During interactions with senior leadership, I asked what I believe were reasonable questions around role objectives, KPIs, team structure, research priorities, and expected outcomes. Instead of receiving clear and structured answers, the discussions often became vague, creating the impression that the organization itself had not fully defined the role.
A major concern was the compensation discussion. Significant time was invested by both parties, yet transparency around the compensation structure and offer process was lacking. Candidates deserve clarity on compensation expectations early in the process rather than after multiple interview rounds.
The most disappointing aspect was the communication after the interviews. Despite repeated follow-ups over a period of weeks, there was little to no proactive communication regarding the status of the offer, onboarding process, or hiring decision. Professional courtesy requires that candidates receive timely updates, especially after investing substantial time and effort in the process.
My overall impression was that the recruitment process lacked transparency, candidate experience was not treated as a priority, and there was insufficient alignment among stakeholders regarding the role requirements and hiring expectations.
I hope the organization reviews its recruitment practices, improves communication standards, provides greater clarity on role expectations, and ensures that candidates are treated with the professionalism and respect they deserve
