My interview process started with a phone screening requesting additional information background information to proceed further. They checked my driving record before even initiating a 1 on 1 interview with the regional manger. During my interview with the regional manager, I was asked the general questions like "why should we pick you over other equally qualified candidates". The manage also had me demonstrate up-selling to a customer using pens where I would try to up-sell the customer from a "standard" pen to a "deluxe" pen which costs double the price of a standard pen. Furthermore, I was also requested to sell an insurance package on the "deluxe" pen to measure my abilities as a salesperson. I asked what the average time is to advance from the "Management Trainee" position and was informed that advancement is primarily based upon sales and that most individuals who show strong sales can advance in 1-2 years. There is nothing remotely related to management in this "Management Trainee" position. You are a standard sales rep with a fancy title.
