      Dog Bather Apprentice Interview

      12 May 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Healthy Spot

      Interview

I did a phone interview with a talent acquisition specialist. She asked basic personality questions and explained about the company. I was invited to do a second interview in person with a Hiring manager. Unfortunately I canceled the interview the day of. The talent acquisition specialist touched base with me and told me she would reschedule. She told me to be honest that cancelling a interview raises a red flag. She said she would email me to reschedule but never did. I sent a follow up email of apology and still no response. I understand that cancelling a Interview is not professional but it's better than not showing up at all. They really should work on at least sending you a decline notification instead of just not responding. That's plain rude. Things do happen that are out of your control last minute.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Healthy Spot (Los Angeles, CA) in Jun 2022

      Interview

Phone interview was great, the guy interviewer was very relaxed and over all was a positive experience. However the in person interview was the opposite. The managers were very unfriendly and unprofessional. Instead of asking me questions like why I thought I would be a good fit for the position they proceeded to ask questions about my college education. They didn’t care about my customer service experience or my self driven personality, they rather focused on why I’m not continuing school or why I quit my previous job. I felt like I had to justify my decision to leave a negative and toxic workplace. Not receiving the offer only let me know that working here would also be a bad experience. Not to mention the employees looked stressed and annoyed with the dogs. When I went to the back the AC was blasting, really cold, and they bathed the dogs with cold water. I’m not sure if this is a common practice among their other stores but I definitely did not feel comfortable in the environment. During the “skills test” I was being ignored and the groomer was only talking to the other employees. Don’t waste your time.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about your previous internships. How was management in your previous job? What’s one thing you would change about your previous job? Have you ever handled big dogs? Your schedule needs to match our lead bathers schedule, can you do that?
