I was contacted by a Regional Manager through email because he found my resume on CareerBuilder. I checked out the company website, and it seemed legit, so I emailed him back and was sent another email with links to videos to watch. The videos featured the founder of the company explaining how he got started and so forth. Again, seemed legit, so I requested phone interview just to get more info on the company. I wasn't expecting it, but I got a call about two hours later from the same manager who emailed me. He told me about the company and how I would actually be selling ID theft protection through Legal Shield. After watching another video, he asked me if I would be interested in working. I said yes, however, now I am unsure. The prospect from the earning potential sounds great, but it all seems commission based, and I don't really like jobs like that. Also, there are a lot of modules to complete, and I don't think you get paid for "training". I also don't like the fact that there isn't a location I can report to in my area if I need help. All help is provided online or through calling support. I called support when I was unable to get through to my first conference call, but no one ever called or emailed me back. I also don't exactly know what my title is. Finally, and I know this may sound strange, but I think I was hired a bit too quickly. I am a good and honest worker, but I was offered a "job" after only about a half hour conversation. The Regional Manager was very nice, but looking back on it, I felt kind of rushed and put on the spot. So, technically, while I was hired, I haven't actually done any work yet, because this all went down about four days ago. However, I am going to contact the manager and decline after all. I think I should go with my gut on this one.
