Interview
Apply for cashier position and was called for an interview 3 weeks later. I had an interview with 1 of the store managers, she then called in another manager to talk to me, his name is chris. Talked to me about how important customer service means to them, after he left the first manager that interviewed me offer me the job and told me the HR will send me an email about job offer and to accept it or deny it using the link i was sent in the email. I received the email a couple hours later accepting job offer and submitting info for them to do a background check on me, that was Monday, the called me Saturday telling me to come in Monday to start my paper work and training!
Straightforward process and not too difficult of questions. Went to corporate office, there were several other candidates there to interview as well. All went through interview process around the same time other candidates in separate areas, and then rejoined once interview was completed to start onboarding.
I applied online. I interviewed at Harris Teeter (Greensboro, NC) in Jan 2026
Interview
I apply through the Harris Teeter careers website.
Then In-Person, lasts about 20 minutes
Very casual and conversational.
They ask Basic questions like “Tell me about yourself.”
“How would you handle an unhappy customer?”
“What would you do if an item scans the wrong price?”
Pretty simple and straight forward, the hiring manager was nice. I'm a full time student so it was a low level part time position. If you have even average conversational skills you should be just fine.
