The interview process was quick, an offer was made after just one interview. However, they were not able to beat the salary of the other offer that I had and they were direct and honest about it. It was done professionally.

Doesn't explain why they rejected, interviewer sounds dismissive. When asked for reason, they did not get back nor explain the reason for rejection. I think it is important to have common courtesy
