I was scheduled for a 30-minute interview with one of the Data Science leads. Unfortunately, from the start of the call, her demeanor was less than welcoming. I typically prefer interviews to be more conversational, but this interaction felt the opposite. I even found myself thinking that I would decline the role if it meant working with her.
One moment that stood out was when I was asked, ‘What are you looking for in your next role?’ After I answered, She replied, ‘I’m sure many other companies can offer you that,’ which left a sour impression. I expected a response more aligned with how this position could meet my goals or offer additional value.
Even when I asked questions, her responses were unenthusiastic, giving the impression that I was wasting her time. It’s unfortunate that I was rescheduled from my original interviewer, as I believe the experience could have been much different. The company itself seems amazing and the recruiters are extremely helpful.
