      Designer Interview

      26 Apr 2021

      Berlin
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Grover (Berlin) in Feb 2021

      Interview

They contacted me on Linkedin and there were two interviews: an initial one with HR and a following one with the design lead. Both interviews were fine, the problem is they want to hire people as freelancers, when this is actually illegal in Germany. It is called Scheinselbständigkeit, and this means the company isn't paying their taxes properly and we as employees have no rights. Really bad. I asked them for an explanation, they didn't get back to me in days, until the recruiter suddenly tried to call me via whatsapp (?) unannounced. Not very professional.
