I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Griffin Funding (Laguna Niguel, CA) in Sept 2025
Interview
My 1st interview was informal because I came in to shadow some of the other loan officers in the Company. I got a feel right away for the people and culture. Of course I was a little nervous, but was made to feel very at ease from the beginning. The next and final interview was with the owner, my manager and another executive, it was more conversational. The light and genuine conversations solidified that the Company's vision and core values aligned with mine. I was all in.

Question 1
They are big on values and character so even though they asked me specific questions, the interview felt like a nice conversation in order to get a feel for the kind of person I was. I was asked about how long I've been in the industry, my general story as a loan officer, if I've had any experience with non-qm loans... They also ask for references and do actually call them, but my references said the call was really kind and suggested I was already in the door instead of looking for a reason to disqualify me from the role.
