The recruiter was friendly and professional at the beginning, and the job description aligned well with my background. I also had a positive experience with the hiring manager; approachable, clear, and easy to connect with.
However, my interview with the VP of Finance raised some concerns. Having primarily interviewed with SaaS tech companies so far, I’ve come to expect leadership that is both humble and inspiring. Most of VPs I talked to. Unfortunately, I didn’t get that impression during this conversation. The VP could not even convinced herself the company’s stability or product direction for the question that I am looking for a stable company for the longer term contribution, It was unexpected at that level of leadership. This left me with doubts about the company’s future, There were a few red flag that I felt that I do not see myself working here in the long term during the conversation.
Ultimately, I was not contacted further. The recruiter ghosted out but understandable considering it is a small team with a lot of priorities. I assume they moved forward with another candidate.
