      Account Executive-Online Division Interview

      21 Nov 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Grand Canyon Education in Nov 2025

      Interview

I was invited to the call screening. The person doing the screening had to reschedule last minute which is understandable. Once I got on, one of the first questions she asked me was about my education which I answered truthfully. She said she would have to get back to me to see if that works for the hiring manager. Put the call on hold for 45 minutes until I finally reached out via email asking what's going on she told me she would get back to me. After going back and forth with her for 3 days trying to understand what education requirement I needed, since it was not listed on their posting as required but preferred, and showing I was met the minimum requirements, she completely ghosted me and did not respond. Extremely unprofessional and will not be looking to pursue with them even if they reach out. Waste of time.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Grand Canyon Education (Savannah, GA) in Sept 2023

      Interview

3 rounds. The first round is an initial phone call with the recruiter for about 15 minutes. The second round is an hour long call with the University Development Manager. Final round is a hour long zoom call where you present a PowerPoint presentation of 7-10 slides for a 30/60/90 day business plan with specifics about how you would meet enrollment goals in the territory. They also requested statistics that would be a good target market for GCU’s respective programs and the resources that you would utilize to compile this data. And the kicker, if you had points of contact in the market they asked that you include them in the plan, but they made sure to add a disclosure. If you didn't feel comfortable including the names of the contacts just include the position/title of the contact. My thoughts on that last request, if you feel like a disclosure is necessary you shouldn't be asking for it in the first place. The interview process was a bit much in terms of what was requested of you. Very disappointing for candidates who put weeks of their time into interviewing with this company to only receive an automated message that they were not selected. You requested that candidates spend 1-2 hours creating a PowerPoint presentation the least you can do it provide some feedback instead of sending an automated message.

      Interview

Phone interview with Recruiter. Sales experience will definitely trump experience in Higher Education. I thought the phone interview went really well. The recruiter was very polite and the interview was more of a conversation.
