      I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Gorgias (CA) (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2024

      Interview

      The process starts with a recruiter screening, interview with the hiring manager, submission of a case study, mock discovery call/demo on Gorgias, group interview, leadership interview and then offer. They ask straight forward questions related to the role however they do expect you to know the product well and to be able to speak on it with confidence during the interview process, which is not the norm. I assumed that demonstrating my sales skills would be enough and that during the mock demo/discovery call that it would be ok not to know the depths of the product, but I was wrong. This is the only place I’ve ever interviewed that seemed fixated on product knowledge in the interview process which was a curve ball because most companies care more about the skills you bring to the table with an understanding that product knowledge will be learned on the job. The instructions are also unclear, because they ask you to do a mock demo but in the description say you just have 20 minutes to do discovery. A discovery call and a demo are 2 different things, and they don’t give you a sandbox to actually demonstrate the product so the unclear instructions may also cause an issue. Just clarify what they want beforehand. If I had received an offer, I would have been hesitant to accept based on how fixated they were on product knowledge of a product I haven’t been hired to sell yet. It makes one nervous that product training on the job may be sub-par.
