      Technical Recruiter Interview

      18 Dec 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Google

      Interview

The interviews process is clear and simple - a Hangout screen with the team manager and an onsite with several team members. The Hangout conversation was super relaxed and pleasant - an overview of the role, of your background and plenty of opportunity for you to ask any questions you want. It was all about 30 mins and I really felt like I was just having a chat with a friend. They said they will get back in touch with me within 1-2 days and they really did. We scheduled the onside interview for the week after. You should prepare for this one very seriously and I would really recommend that you read all reviews here on Glassdoor and anywhere on the web, research recent news and think about various types of recruitment and sourcing problems that one could face when working for a company like Google. In my case the onside consisted of 3 back-to-back meetings with different team members that lasted about 45 minutes each. I also had lunch together with another team member and a tour of the building which is as you can bet Amazing! Every person I met focused on the different topic area/s such as sourcing, client management, problem solving, etc. Don't expect the standard stupid behavioral questions because there are (almost) none. Every question they would ask would be an intellectually challenging, real-life and meaningful one and would be phrased as a case from the day to day work. Think about any interesting problem that you could potentially encounter and think big - not only on your level but on a company level as well. Another thing - they don't care so much about what you have done so far. They care about what you COULD do, what you can achieve given the right tools, how quickly you can learn and adapt, how flexible you are and whether you could think and produce solutions on your feet. The attitude of all people is amazingly friendly, they are all smiling, easy-going and super smart people with whom you would absolutely love speaking! You won't want it to end. Also they are very open and would answer all your questions honestly, even the tough ones. After the onside they came back to me again very quickly, exactly as promised. Overall I would say that this was the best interview experience I have had in my life.

      Interview

Too many interviews. I declined to continue. If you can’t decide after multiple interviews you have a broken process. I was interviewing for a recruiter role and I didn’t want my candidates to be out in the same position.

      Interview

Hey there are some great articles out there on the internet for cracking Google interviews. Please do go through this as they're really helpful. You will mostly have 3-4 sometimes 5 rounds of interviews and all of them will test a combination of skills that you've mentioned in the post above.
