This will depend whether you stand out to a recruiter. Then they try to identify a role and work through certain interviews. That done, it’ll depend on whether you get selected internally.
Be thoroughly patient. This process can take lots of time.

Walk me through a very difficult scenario with a customer and if you were able to resolve the issue or problem.
The three different people who conducted the on site interview were all very different. they all asked similar questions, except for the current Technical Specialist who asked more operational questions, but they all expected different answers. As an interviewee, they made me feel comfortable but the hiring committee definitely gave off the air that "Google is the best place to work"... which made the process more intimidating than expected after the initial phone interview.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Google (Singapore) in Feb 2020
Interview
Applied via Google Careers Portal with a referral.
Round 1 was with an HR on some basic technical questions related to databases and networking.
After that, I was connected with an HR coordinator who guided me on how to prepare for the subsequent interviews.
Round 2 was a Technical round with some live coding and technical troubleshooting qns.
Round 3 was with 2 interviewees, accessing my General Cognitive Ability and Leadership Ability
Round 4 was with a cross-functional interviewee
The entire process took about 1-2 months.
Thereafter, due to COVID-19, the process slowed down and my packet, though approved locally, was put on hold for 3 months.
As the situation got better, I received an update that they are again moving forward with the headcount and the HR shared compensation details, followed by an offer letter.
