I applied in-person. I interviewed at Goodwill Southern California (Santa Ana, CA) in Jan 2026
Interview
The interview process included two rounds. The first was an HR interview focused on my project experience, interests, and availability. About a month later, I had a second interview with the team manager discussing current projects, role fit, and possible placement.

Question 1
In the first (HR) round, the interviewer did not go through my resume in detail but focused on discussing the projects I had worked on, the technical fields I was familiar with, what I hoped to gain from the internship, my preferred onboarding timeline, and which office location was closest to me.
In the second round, the team manager introduced the team’s current projects and discussed role fit, job matching, and potential placement opportunities based on my background.
I applied online. I interviewed at Goodwill Southern California (San Diego, CA) in Oct 2020
Interview
Easy interview, makes the job sound fun and rewarding which it is not. They make promises that are hollow and that is why people leave. Nothing they said in the interview was true, just smoke and mirrors.
Simple, very straightforward questions throughout the interview process. The interview was less than 20 minutes, I volunteered for at the location for about a month. Everything that was asked in the interview were basic interview questions so don’t stress over the interview process here
