Tutor Enablement Manager - Recruitment Interview

      11 Nov 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GoStudent in Oct 2022

      Interview

The interview process consists of 3 phases + Case Study. The first is a call with the recruiter (in my case, she contacted me through Linkedin). The second phase is a conversion with the Team Leader, a very simple conversation about previous experiences and motivations. After that, I had to prepare a case study (quite extensive) and present it. About the presentation: I thought the presentation went quite well because there were no negative comments about it, but apparently not for them. The team leader and vice president of Tutor Enablement were the hosts and there were basically no comments at all, just questions about my previous experiences. I had the feeling that they didn't even read my presentation because I have never been to this stage without any comments. I was surprised when a week after I received an email from the recruiter saying that they decided to hire a senior profile because some of my answers were too "generic". When you get to the final stage of an interview, of course you expect more than " it was too generic" as a review and I asked the recruiter for more consistent feedback (more than 3 times) and she kept finding excuses, but in the end there was no feedback. Is it hard to take 30 minutes to review what I did? It is very disrespectful and rude even more coming from an "educational platform".

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Case study questions: Analyse our current recruiting flow - (they will give you access to their current flow) a. What observations do you have on potential pain points and how these may affect recruitment KPIs? b. What are the improvement opportunities you see in the current journey? 2. Analyse the recruitment funnel a. What insights can you draw from the data across recruitment stages? b. Based on the data, what improvement actions do you see - do these align with your initial hypotheses looking at the flow conceptually? 3. New recruiting tool a. Looking at our recruitment journey, what requirements would you define for an ideal recruitment tool? b. Is there a specific tool that you would recommend and why? 4. Lead generation a. Where do you expect most qualified leads would come from (e.g., search engines vs. student associations) and what are potential ideas of how we can tap into these lead sources? Feel free to think creatively. b. What profile of lead (e.g., student vs. professional) would you expect to perform best on GoStudent with regards to CVR and long-term engagement. How would you ensure we target these more effectively? c. We are currently working on promoting referrals, what are some ideas of increasing referral volume? Feel free to think creatively and cite successful referral programs you have seen in the past.
