Two appointments were made for a telephone interview, which were both missed by GlobalData. However, they did manage to call me on the third occasion. The individual at the other end was brief, impolite and not interested; there was no evidence that my CV or cover letter had been read beforehand.
It is only elaborated at the interview what the job role actually entails, as deliberately misleading when reading the job description or querying on points beforehand. Your expected target is 80-100 cold calls to companies / individuals searched through directories and linkedIn every day, where there is a 95% accepted sales failure rate. You will remain in this position for a minimum of three years. Apparently many of these cold contact calls can be unpleasant - unsurprising really! There are NO benefits.
The base salary is £24k and I was told that the average commission in the first year is a further £20k. This is 'potential' and not reality as there are unrealistic targets in place (1/10 reach them). It takes time and skill to sell outdated products to unassuming clients, often at the brink of legality. You will not be making anywhere near this.
My brief involvement with GlobalData was disappointing from start to finish; applying to interview was a matter of days.
Lastly, there is a LOT of very bad press by those who work / have worked at GlobalData. Once you start researching for reviews through GlassDoor and other review sites then you will see a lot of seriously appalling feedback (except from those who have been told by Management to lift the dreadfully low scores).
Avoid - Look elsewhere Graduates, your intelligence and motivation will be appreciated elsewhere!
