I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gates Foundation in May 2021
Interview
Interviewed for six rounds before being informed that the position I applied for was being cut and will no longer be filling that position even though I was likely going to receive an offer. Great way to add insult to injury. I was also surprised with a writing exercise that I was requested to complete a week before my final interview that really threw me off guard, wished my recruiter or the hiring manager would have given me a notice early in my interview process about a 90-minute writing exercise before asking a candidate to complete a critical writing assessment over Memorial Day Weekend.

Question 1
Various questions on racial equity/DEI and technical skills.
Spoke to a recruiter, had initial conversations with two employees then a two-person interview. Very little follow-up, was told I would hear back in a week, and heard back only after I requested information a month later.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gates Foundation
Interview
Multi-staged interview process with. multiple levels of conversation with different stakeholders. Interviews stretched over the course of 5 months with gaps in between. Received good updates in-between. Very competitive with a lot of applicants.
Lovely and respectful interview process. I did not ultimately get the role, but felt cared for throughout, and was kept in mind for future roles. The interview helped me prepare for future interviews.
