      Applications Developer-oracle Interview

      12 Aug 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Kansas City, KS
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Garmin (Kansas City, KS) in Apr 2015

      Interview

They paid for the expenses for me to travel to their location for the interview. That was about the only good part of the interview. I arrived at the headquarters ahead of time and waited well past the interview time for anyone to come meet with me. After being introduced to the benefits of the company, I was asked to wait in a meeting room. A manager from the BA side and another manager from some other department showed up and went through their questions which I felt I answered well. Then came the next round with my hiring manager and 3 others. One of them in a t-shirt and jeans because he appparently "forgot" he had to conduct an interview that day. They have casual clothes allowed at work but when they show up for interviews like that, it shows how much they care about work. They asked many of the same questions as in the first round, which I again answered well. Then came some absolutely irrelevant questions from the manager from manufacturing, who I had no clue why he was there. I answered those best I could and left after the interview. They do not even let you know about the results of the interview. You have to follow up multiple times to be told you "sounded uninterested" in the job. So I flew all the way there because I was uninterested? But they had horrible pay anyway. Those who work there must be the really meek ones to accept such low pay.
