Interview
Only received a behavioral phone call; they asked about me and my career ambitions but also some basic technical questions like asking about pointers and C. I didn't like how they asked about salary requirements as it was only the initial interview.
Phone screen was a common tell me about yourself and why Garmin. They didn't ask any follow ups on your answered and seemed to just run through the list of the questions they had.
I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Garmin (Olathe, KS) in Nov 2025
Interview
I had 1hr behavioral Interview and 1hr technical interview. Behavioral interview was about how I got to know the company, why should the company hire me, and what kind of research experience I had.
Process took about a month. Recruiter was slow getting back to me but interview process was alright. The interviewers were friendly and mainly focused on problem solving and how you think through your code.
