I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at GameStop (Sheridan, WY)
Interview
Initially hired as a salesman, the most entry level position, the interview was conducted on the future sales floor as the store had not opened. Attire was unimportant to the newly hired general manager but as always, the well dressed people will be taken seriously as it shows you truly care about attaining the job.
The manager was obviously not used to conducting interviews as the questions were not complex or difficult, very basic questions about previous employment and if I had experience with cash drawers etc.
Interviewed at register during busy afternoon at store with customers checking out and asking questions to manager while they were interviewing me. Definitely a little hectic, unconventional and not my preferred method
Very informal interview and the application process was odd and lengthy. I turned in my application at the end of May or first of June and got a call one week ago to interview. ASM is a twenty something it trying to be great but there are a few rookie mistakes. We never covered schedules and as of last Wednesday I accepted the job but I have yet to sign anything or do any onboarding in GS portal. He never asked what days or time of day I was interested in; nor did we cover rate of pay. Offered me job over the phone.
