Recruiter completely forgot about our zoom screen interview. After multiple emails, she called me and made up an excuse that the internet had been out. She was 20 minutes late to the interview. She conducted a partial screen interview and then had to schedule additional time the following day. What was supposed to be just one interview, turned into two. I was passed on to the next two panel interviews. The recruiter again emailed me the wrong time for my final interview and I was called by the hiring manager asking me if I was going to jump on the call. I had explained that the recruiter emailed me a different time. I asked if I could still conduct the final panel interview. She said yes, If you’re ready. So I did. A few days later after the final interview I received an email rejection. After preparing a required sales pitch and 4 interviews, I feel that a phone call would have been more appropriate. I was given a generic rejection which was, we could only select one candidate. I emailed the recruiter to see if any other feedback was given so I could use that and improve upon for future opportunities but was given the same exact reason. 5 days later the position was reopened accepting candidates. They didn’t select another candidate. They just didn’t hire me. They couldn’t give me any tangible reason as to why I wasn’t selected and just reopened the position. I don’t feel it’s appropriate to lie to candidates who invest so much time and effort preparing.
