      Director of Corporate Impact Interview

      8 Apr 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Chicago, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at G2 (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2019

      Interview

The interview process is exactly what I could have asked for as a candidate. I applied online in early February, and within a week, a recruiter reached out to schedule a phone interview. We were able to get that done within days, and it was a great conversation. After that call, G2 sent me the online aptitude test which came with attached literature to provide insight into methodology / what to expect. After reading reviews here, I purchased a Wunderlic test prep, which I feel was key in feeling confident going into the evaluation. The test is not hard, but it does take getting used to the format and pace. I would suggest doing practice tests, in addition to digging into the website that is linked in the evaluation email. About two weeks after completing the test, I went in for a set of in-person interviews, which included 3, 30 minute interviews with some of the senior leadership team. Everyone I met had great energy and seemed truly excited to speak with me about the role. I again, then took the online assessment in office. The next step was a 30 minute panel interview with some of the employees who have been engaged with G2 Gives, and then I had the opportunity to speak with the company President, Tim Handorf. He was simply fantastic, and it was great to have open dialogue as to his vision for philanthropic growth within the company. The final step was a 60 minute video interview with the CEO, where I had the opportunity to speak at length with him about the company, his view on philanthropy/volunteerism etc. It is obvious how invested and engaged leadership is, and it shows. Every single person I met through the process has been smart, dedicated to the mission, and excited to welcome someone to the team who can grow G2 Gives. Shortly after that last interview, I received an offer and accepted it within a day. From start to finish, the process took roughly six weeks. The recruiter was great at communicating every step of the way, and he answered my questions often before I had a chance to ask some of them. I cannot say enough good things about the recruiter, the team, the company, or the process.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback, and thank you for the compliments about the process. We value every individual who considers G2 - interviewing is, after all, a two way street and we know the stellar individuals with whom we engage have other opportunities in a tight market. It is very rewarding to to know that we were able to move to a positive conclusion, and we look forward to officially welcoming you to G2.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at G2 (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2019

      Interview

I applied for G2 Crowd in January 2019. A couple days after I submitted I was asked to complete a wondelic like assessment. In reading reviews of G2 Crowd, this assessment came up on many occasions with people offering negative feedback on their experiences. I however, didn't have any qualms about it and completed it just fine. Almost immediately after completing the assessment, I was contacted by an in-house recruiter to schedule a phone screener for a couple days later. I think that our discussion went really well. At the end of our conversation, the recruiter mentioned that they would be contacting me the following week to discuss next steps (regardless of if I would be moving forward to the in person interview or not). Well, the contact date came and went. I contact the recruiter twice via email with no response. Two weeks following the date she was supposed to reach out to me by, I emailed again in a last ditch effort, because quite honestly, this position is my dream job and I was very upset to have been ghosted. I ended up getting a response that things were very busy and they hadn't come to any decisions but would be in contact when they have. Okay, cool. You could have just sent me a quick email explaining this instead of ignoring my outreach. It has been two weeks since that email and I have heard nothing. It is a very unprofessional way to treat candidates. And looking at reviews, this seems to be a common occurrence. Once a candidate gives of their time to be interviewed they deserve feedback. Stop leaving candidates hanging. Grant them closure.

Thank you for taking the time to respond with feedback. We are so sorry you came away with a poor candidate experience. We are growing right now faster than the infrastructure has been able to support. We have taken steps to increase the bandwidth of our recruiting team, and this should result in more responsive feedback. With this particular role, we have had tremendous candidate interest, and we have not filled or closed it yet nor have we moved to a final round of interviewing. Again, thank you for taking the time to give us feedback - even when tough to read it helps us know where our fault-lines exist.
