One of the things that I have learned is that people are the most important asset for any company. As such, I actively participate in many interviews throughout the organization. I also make it a point to leave my cell phone behind when I am interviewing candidates. Given this, it is unusual that you had the experience that your post suggests. My focus during interviews is on the candidate and the value that they may be able to bring to the business.
