I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Free Market Health in Jan 2026
Interview
First round was basically a technical interview without any leetcode/actual system design, but was fairly involved with a member of the engineering leadership. Then there was a second round interview that was on system design with 2 staff engineers and a senior engineer.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Free Market Health in Nov 2024
Interview
From start to finish, the director was kind, thoughtful and respectful. I met the team onsite and everyone was great. They cared about the long-term vision of the company and were able to answer strategic questions about how they manage growth as a startup.

Present a case study of your past work experience that shows solving for a complex problem.

Interview
Fairly straight forward, hiring manager interview then team interview. Was told I was "in offer territory" and to "expect an email next week." I was even told what the salary would be for the offer. Then, 2 days later, I got a template "We regret to inform you..." email. I understand that they might not have wanted to hire me for whatever reason, but it is terrible to tell someone to expect an offer, give details of the offer, and then rescind that offer by sending a generic HR email. I feel like companies don't feel the need to treat people like human beings anymore.
