      SEO Associate Interview

      12 Dec 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at FourFront

      Interview

The people at this office are all really genuinely nice! Their office is in a newly renovated historic building and is also really nice. I was called for a phone interview with the CFO’s assistant and invited for an in person interview. They conduct their in person interviews all in one go (not a group interview, but every candidate is there at the same time and shuffled back and forth between four interviewers) which was actually quite nice because it means you’ll remain fresh in their minds when it comes time to make a decision. However, it was four and a half hours of interviewing which was emotionally taxing, so by the final interviews I definitely felt I could have answered some questions a lot better. I got a call later that same night telling me they were impressed by my qualifications, thought I might be the right fit and asking me to take a personality test which I completed the next day. After a few days of silence, I was informed they were going with another candidate via email. I wasn’t given the results of the personality assessment (the questions were the basic pre-employment screening kind you usually get when submitting an application to a retail kind of job), but I would recommend the company not necessarily make ultimate hiring decisions based on the results because they are kind of arbitrary and not necessarily a correct representation of the candidate. The email addressed me by the wrong name (meaning they either forgot my name, forgot to change the copy/paste template, or something else) and had a couple of typos, the wrong name was kinda embarrassing and a little humiliating for me, but I still appreciated them letting me know regardless.

Dear Interviewee, Thank you for providing feedback on your interview experience. I sincerely apologize that your name was not correct on the email. I certainly understand that the error made the communication feel impersonal. We use an app for our interview process and related communication, and the app pulls the candidate's name from the resume. I will look into how the error occurred so we can address this issue. Our interview process includes several components: resume screening, phone screening, in-person interview, employment application, personality assessment, reference checks, and background check. Each component is part of the whole evaluation and, past the resume screening, no component is considered out of the context of the other components. The personality profile assessment is used to evaluate the candidate's fit for the position and also FourFront's fit for the candidate's personality. We understand the importance of looking at both sides of the equation to create the best employment situation. We work hard to humanize our interview process, and I regret that any part of your experience felt otherwise. Your input will help us improve, and I thank you for taking the time to provide it.
