They invite over 2,200 people from all over the nation to take their exam with a total of 50 spots available. If you score high enough, you'll be invited to jump through all their hoops - orientation, fill out an extensive background packet (where a lot of the documents they request are ridiculous), complete a timed run, physical ability test, pre-polygraph, polygraph, etc. After about 7 months you finally are scheduled for an interview with 150 people left. I was given 5 situational questions which I answered perfectly and was told that I was eliminated. When asked why I was told "figure it out yourself". Throughout this process the firefighters were in bad moods and seemed malcontent. The culture seems awful and it's crazy that they are allowed to treat people so badly. Stay away from this department if you know whats good for you!
