      Systems Engineer Interview

      29 May 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Biggin Hill, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Formula 1 (Biggin Hill, England) in May 2019

      Interview

Recent interview with Formula 1 management at Biggin Hill. for System Engineering Role. Interview duration was just over an hour. Was not one to one but rather a round table meeting style interview. Meet with Hiring manager, and engineer and HR. Between them around 30 competency based questions asked and all are scoring individually. It was in an intense setting where you are only giving the opportunity to ask questions the last 5 minutes of the interview. You are asked about Project Management predominatly when the role is not for PM position. The next stages of the interview are not clear and never communicated. Forget about the follow up thank you email to HR or the hiring manager they will not be courteous to respond. I have recieved 2 other Job offers whilst pending decision from Formula 1 and sent an email to inform. Email was ignored. I tried contacting HR to understand the status of my interview but feels like HR have been avoiding my call. You get through to reception and reception tries to put you through but HR avoids calls by promising to call you back but no call back. HR then contacts agency to say candidate is unsuccessful without giving valid tangable feedback regarding the interview. Agency suggest that they are interviewing others and have not yet made a hiring decision. There is alot of controversy and misleading information thorugh third party. HR will need to contact candidate directly with tangable feedback. HR contacts Agency to provide feedback informing the role is now filled with a more experienced individual. This is misleading as the role is still being advertised. HR does not contact candadite to provide tangable feedback. Please take note of the reviews regarding FOM HR on glassdoor. They are all true to what the say about HR.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Around 30 questions asked with some being very similar. All the competency based questions you can think of. They have not made the questions relating to the position but rather generic of the book. Why FOM, Why you, Career in 5 years, describe a time when you was stressed, how do you manage conflicts. Basically best advise I can give is get a book containing the 100 competency based questions and know each and every answer to each question. HR have not managed this interview correctly with selective questions. Similar questions was askedd.
