I thought that overall, the process went well. The people were friendly and engaged in good conversation. The phone screening and the in-person interviews were all good. The problem was the results/feedback that I received - not because it didn't go in my favor...but because the reasoning for the decline didn't make any sense.
I was told that even though everyone in the department liked me, I was turned down because the team thought that I was "too senior" for this position - even though it was a Senior Procurement Analyst position - and that I would get easily bored in this role. The recruiter and the hiring team all reviewed my resume, liked the experience I had, scheduled a phone interview with me, and had me come in for an in-person interview. All of this, only to tell me that I was too senior and that I would get bored easily. Then why did you waste my time (and your time) with this process to begin with? This tells me that no one was really paying attention to my overall background, or to what I said to them in the interviews at all. Maybe I should be glad that I didn't get the position.
