There was at least two interviews with upper management. After selecting a few candidates, the process involved doing paid contract work over the course of at least a month to see if you are a good fit. The work was enjoyable, but I would never receive feedback whether the submitted work was good, or if the client even liked it. Foerstel prides itself in having a collaborative atmosphere and work process, however this was not the experience with doing the contract work. If I asked a question, they felt like I was trying to get an unfair advantage over other candidates. Most of the communication happened via email, so it was hard to communicate with them. After not hearing back for over a month, there was suddenly an emergency to get me hired and they expected a maximum of two weeks to wrap up my current employment and projects and join their team. However, after getting an official offer from them, I had many unanswered questions about insurance and benefits. I entertained a counter offer from my current employer, which is pretty normal in business. After asking if they would counter the counter offer, the management at Forestel got offended and rescinded the original offer. It seemed to me that they were self-conscience about being a small agency, and didn't like competition from larger companies. From when I applied to when I was offered a position was probably about three or four months.
