I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Flix (Berlin) in Sept 2025
Interview
The interview process was quite structured and initially seemed professional.
It started with an HR screening, followed by a coding challenge that had to be completed within seven days.
After submitting the solution, I had a high-level discussion with a senior software engineer and a product owner, then a technical deep-dive on the same challenge with two developers.
The next step was supposed to be a discussion with the Engineering Manager, but before that could happen, I was unexpectedly invited to a short “feedback call,” where I was told that, despite the team’s “very positive feedback,” they suddenly had “technical doubts.”
None of those concerns were mentioned during the actual interviews, which made the final outcome feel inconsistent and disingenuous.
The abrupt change in communication raises legitimate concerns about the company’s transparency and how aligned its hiring process truly is.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most of the questions were related to general topics such as application monitoring, deployment and delivery processes, and overall development practices.
There was nothing particularly deep-dive or technically challenging, the discussion stayed mostly high-level and conceptual.
