The role seemed to perfectly align with my experience and I was happy when I was contacted for an interview by a recruiter. The recruiter only had availability for an initial call two weeks from the date she emailed me. I selected the earliest slot and sent an email letting her know that I could also be available sooner if needed, as I was very interested in the role. She accepted the initial time slot and did not respond to my message. While I don't think it's very polite to disregard my message, I chalked it off to her being busy. The day of the interview finally arrived and she emailed me a couple of hours before letting me know that she was out of the office sick and would love to reschedule our call to the following week (now 3 weeks after her initial email to me). I was not available at the specific time she asked to reschedule to so I responded with my very open availability on any other day of the same week. She again did not bother responding but simply booked the time she had proposed. An hour after that, I received an email from the company informing me that the position had been filled. I waited two days to see if it was a mistake, and when I didn't hear anything, I reached out to her via email again to politely seek some clarification as it was very confusing - why would she ask me to reschedule an interview if the position had just been filled? Was she being dishonest or was there poor communication on the Talent Acquisition team? Was the role still available and this email was an error? Were we still supposed to meet the following week? She never responded. The following week she cancelled our call an hour before its scheduled time. I had always heard great things about Flipp and the culture of Flipp, and was actually referred by an employee. I want to believe that they are unaware of such extreme unprofessionalism. Tremendously disappointed with this experience, a missed opportunity that could have been great for Flipp as well as myself. Very unprofessional recruiter with zero empathy for others and a complete lack of respect for candidates and the candidate experience. To never respond to any of my extremely friendly and polite emails is blatantly rude and shows a complete disregard for candidates or potential hires. In addition, not cancelling the rescheduled interview until the day of while ignoring my attempt to understand what was going on is completely uncaring of both my time and the interest I had in the position and time I had taken to prepare for the interview process.
