I interviewed for a Principal Product Manager role after reaching out directly to the CEO and being connected to the hiring manager. The initial conversations were positive, and I was asked to proceed through a recruiter screening followed by a case study.
I invested time completing and submitting the case study with a trackable link. However, I did not receive any response for over two weeks. After following up with both the recruiter and the hiring manager, I was told that a rejection email had been sent earlier, which I never received.
Additionally, based on the analytics of the submitted material, it appeared that my case study had not been reviewed.
Overall, the process lacked transparency and basic communication. Candidates are asked to invest meaningful time, but the company does not demonstrate the same level of respect in return.
