      Project Manager Interview

      26 Nov 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Franklin, TN
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Five Iron (Franklin, TN) in Nov 2025

      Interview

This was a typical interview process, with the first step being a recruiter screening, followed by the hiring manager interview (in-person). Both individuals were fantastic to chat with and extremely helpful. I actually don't know if I've ever worked with a recruiter that was so responsive. 5 stars for sure. Unfortunately, the company is small and is going to have a very difficult time retaining solid talent because the pay is extremely low for the positions they are attempting to fill. For example, employees are expected to be in the Franklin office 5 days per week, but after one-year the employee has now earned the privilege of working one day remotely. $110-130k max for a project manager in the cyber security world does not align with industry norms. The hiring manager asked very direct and normal project manager questions, but this was more of an implementations mgr and not a true PM role, which I found out through discovery questions. After I explained I would need xx dollars per year to commute to Franklin 5 days per week, I was told the company could not accommodate my salary request, but there was a lot of respect from the recruiter in her email. I appreciated the transparency. The interview process seemed to move at a rapid pace, which I appreciated from a candidate stand point. The company just needs to work on their outdated salary budgets if they plan to retain top-notch talent.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Typical project manager interview questions. 1. Tell me about a time a stakeholder wanted to add a feature midway through your project and you had to push back. 2. Tell me about a time your project went off track and you had to bring it back to align with the project plan.
