      Associate Consultant Interview

      19 Apr 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at FiscalNote in Feb 2022

      Interview

Applied online by sending a resume and cover letter. I was contacted via email for a phone interview about three weeks later. The phone interview was about 7 minutes long, which I am not used (usually they last way longer?) The recruiter was not warm or friendly (shouldn't they be?) It felt like she knew who she wanted to move forward with already, but still interviewed me as something to cross off her checklist. When I asked my questions, she gave short responses that was pushing on rude. By the end, she told me that she would let me know the next day if they would push me forward. The next day, I was rejected, which I appreciated because at least FiscalNote gave me a notice to move on rather than be in limbo. Still, I wish she didn't move forward with the phone interview if she knew I wasn't moving forward (would help me manage expectations) or at least pretend that I was a viable candidate during the call for my ego (which people on the job hunt kinda need!)

      Interview

Initial screener followed by a case study process where I spoke to three people after involving the case study. The case study has been revised in subsequent years to involve questions more reflective of the job.

      Anonymous employee
      Washington, DC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at FiscalNote (Washington, DC) in Dec 2021

      Interview

The interview was a comprehensive process that took about a month. The interview process was divided into 4 steps: 1) initial call with the recruiter and if that goes smoothly, you get a take-home assignment; 2) interview with a member of the team; 3) panel presentation of your sample deliverable; 4) interview with the director. Overall, it was one of the most communicative and comprehensive interview processes I've had. All the people during the interview were very friendly and professional.
