I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Fireworks AI (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2026
Interview
Interview with Sales and SA manager, discussion with Field CTO, take home technical code interview (very basic), discovery call with SA manager and finally a presentation with SA and Sales manager.
Poor response though, this is common with startups where they can be overly picky, but I was very much qualified for the role they had a very unclear presentation requirement and graded me on that opaque need. I'm sure they're fine but I was unimpressed by their field CTO and Sales leader. Compared to similar startups in the space their interview didn't give me much confidence.

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Fireworks AI (San Francisco, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Didn't have an interview. Instead I was give a take home assignment. Email from the Fireworks recruiter:
Hi,
Thank you for your interest in the Solutions Architect role at Fireworks AI. The team is excited to move your application forward!
As the first step in the interview process please complete a short take-home assignment. It’s designed to give you a sense of the type of work you’d be doing in this role. While the assignment should only take a few hours to complete, we like to give candidates a full 24 hours to complete it. Just let me know the exact date and time (in PST time zone) that work best for you to receive the assignment, and I’ll get it scheduled.
Once you submit, the team will review your work and determine next steps. Typically, this includes a technical discussion of your assignment with the hiring manager. If that goes well and there’s mutual interest in moving forward, the final round will involve additional conversations with your potential future teammates!
Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime. Thanks!
