      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Firefish Software

      Interview

After applying through a third-party job board, I was contacted by the head of talent, and initially, everything seemed to go smoothly. We started with a phone call, and I was given a tech assessment that involved CRUD operations. I even scheduled a code review, but ultimately, they decided not to move forward with my application. I was advised to reapply in the future, which I was more than willing to do since the experience had been positive up to that point. Months later, another member of their talent team reached out to see if I was open to new opportunities. At that time, I was on maternity leave and needed a bit more time before returning to work. After a couple of months, I followed up with them but received no response. I tried again, but still nothing. I then applied directly through their career page, but despite their automated message promising to get back to me within two days, I heard nothing. To ensure my emails and applications were reaching the right people, I contacted several individuals, all of whom assured me they would follow up. They eventually scheduled a phone call, but no one showed up. After sending a follow-up email and leaving a voicemail, I was met with silence once more. Looking back, I’m not sure why I was so eager to get a response. I suppose I was being optimistic, thinking maybe they were just busy or facing some technical issues that prevented them from reaching out. In reality, it felt like I was being ghosted, which was both disrespectful and discouraging. This experience made me wonder whether they genuinely care about their candidates and employees. The warmth and consideration they portray on their website now seem like mere facades.
