Interview
I applied online and was contacted to interview about two weeks later. After an initial chat with an HR person, we scheduled an interview in Rockville with three pretty senior people. I felt it was a great environment and the interview was well directed towards explaining what the job would be like, how my skills would work in that context, as well as seeing if I was a fit on a personal level. Although I did not get an offer, I felt good enough about the process and the people I met, as well as the work they described that I am still interested in FINRA.

Question 1
It was actually hard to answer where I saw myself in ten years - I am often asked about five in interviews, but I really got stumped by this relatively innocuous question as applied to a longer timeframe.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at FINRA (Rockville, MD) in Oct 2022
Interview
Process was fairly simple once the interview was set. Met with 2 hiring managers and senior director. 3 Panel interview. Lasted 1 hour. Mostly behavioral questions and some easy technical questions like understanding of financial products . The competition is very high for these roles. Must be very engaging in the interview and show good personality traits. Once the interview was over, I received and offer in exactly 1 week. My advice would be to show genuine excitement and interest for the role. Ask follow up questions and establish a genuine connection if possible.

Interview
Emailed by HR for convenient time, spent exactly one hour with two managers- they were totally going thruough the motions. I had interviewed for a few other jobs, exactly the same questions off same song sheet. No response afterwards. More than 25% are hired from within according to manager, so I assume they have to through the motions, which is an unfortuante waste of my time. I think it is unfortunate HR cannot send a a nice email saying position is filled. Afterall, I spent the time to apply.
