I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ExxonMobil (Singapore) in May 2011
Interview
It was just an informal chat with the line manager who was seeking to hire. After an initial period of getting to know me, he focused on ensuring that I understood the demands of the position. A good amount of time was also spent bringing me up to speed with the core business of the department and the initiatives I would have to work on and develop. As this was for an internship position, the process is naturally not as rigorous as that for a full time position. The interview lasted over an hour.
Overall process was good. They thoroughly study your CV . Questions are CV based as well as situational. They are highly ethical in their conduct, how you dress and present yourself matters.
I applied through university. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at ExxonMobil (Leatherhead, England) in Dec 2016
Interview
First interview was Skype and was quite relaxed.
Second interview was in-person with 2 employees.
Both interviews were very competency heavy.
Although, the second started off with the usual "why Exxon" and "why this role".
