I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Extreme Networks (Raleigh, NC) in May 2016
Interview
2 very casual meetings at Beer:30 (something Extreme does on Friday afternoons) with the Director of Software Engineering where he introduced me to the team. Once I was interested in pursuing the position, a more formal interview was setup. I interviewed with 2 software engineering managers and 1 principle software engineer. They generally asked me about my resume experience and some general computer science questions - link lists, arrays, threading, mutexes, data structures.

Question 1
How would you store database records in memory when you don't know how large the database could grow?
I interviewed at Extreme Networks (San Jose, CA) in Apr 2026
Interview
One round of hiring manager/ coding interview. Was asked to do an in person onsite interview. There were 5 rounds of system design, leetcode problem and strong focus on design principles. The interview was overall ok.
The interviewers were kind and fair.
The recruiter called me the day after to talk numbers and got spooked out when I asked about RSUs (!!!) . Kept rescheduling the calls after that and totally ghosted me after that. Highly unprofessional, especially since I attended an in person interview.
Interview rounds were held at 4 stages.
I chose C++ as programming language.
1. Networking
2. Coding
3. Discussion
4. HR
Networking round includes dns, tcp connection establishment, UDP, arp
The overall interview process is smooth. The interviewers are on time which is important to me. We start with clarifying the question. After I delivered an intuitive solution, he followed up for better solutions. Hence, I delivered 3 different kinds of solutions.
