      EMT-B Interview

      6 Nov 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Lemon Grove, CA
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Express Ambulance (Lemon Grove, CA) in Oct 2023

      Interview

You sit in a room with the Operations Manager, who asks the standard interview questions (goals, availability, background) followed by a few EMT questions. An offer is made at that time if you are hired.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They ask about long term goals in EMS, how long you intend to be an EMT, an example of handing a tough situation, ask how you would handle a difficult patient, and availability. As far as skills, you need to name stroke symptoms (BEFAST), know what is considered a low glucose level, and ask when you would call ALS, contraindications for NTG, and the five rights.

      EMT-B Interview

      23 Sept 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Lemon Grove, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Express Ambulance (Lemon Grove, CA) in Sept 2021

      Interview

Not that nerve-racking but kind of intimidating, the EMS questions were a bit hard. I sounded unsure and unconfident and didn't know what to answer for some of the questions. Was told they would get back to me but never did.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

First, they ask you to talk about yourself and your long-term goals. Then they ask about strengths and weaknesses and how you overcome those weaknesses. They also ask about why you are a good candidate for the role and how the company will benefit from hiring you, they ask about a time you faced hardship and you overcame it. They ask why you wanna work there. They also ask about a time you wished you had done something differently with a coworker. Then they go into the ems section and they ask what the difference is between a base and a satellite hospital, normal blood sugar levels, how to recognize hypoglycemia, what to do for a stroke patient, OPQRST, SAMPLE, DCAP BTLS, what they are used for and what they stand for, what do you do if a coworker is being rude to a patient, why documentation is important. after that, they ask about your availability.
