On 4/10, I reached out to the via LinkedIn about their recruiter opportunity. We scheduled a zoom interview for 4/11. I was invited to come into the office on 4/12 for an in person interview. After the interview I was told that the HM would have to speak to his boss and he would get back to me the following week. I reached out but didn’t hear back until 4/19. They were still interviewing other candidates & stated that final interviewees would be invited to the office the following week. The entire recruitment team fell ill so my 3rd interview (panel) was pushed back to 5/6. I was told that I should hear something by Wednesday 5/8. I was contacted at the end of the day on Thursday, 5/9 and was told that the team “loved me” and was asked to come in for a 4th and final interview. I had availability the following day so I came in on 5/10 and spoke with the final HM. I was then invited to lunch with the recruitment team that same day. The other team members were speaking to me as if I had the role. They asked if I was given a start date and even stated that I received a “welcome lunch.” (mind you, I was not offered the role yet). By the end of the lunch, I spoke to the initial HM privately & asked if they made a decision. He told me that they still had another interview & I would hear back the following week. It is now Friday - 5/31 and I have not received feedback. For over a month I had a total of 4 interviews, was invited to lunch (which I do appreciate) but still did not receive an answer. I feel as though I’ve just been dragged along while they figured things out internally. I understand that the interview process can take time, and the importance of choosing the “perfect” candidate, but I would have at least appreciated a response to say that they went with another candidate or whatever the reason was…especially after 4 interviews, positive feedback, and being invited to lunch with the team. This is exactly why I want to go into recruitment… to limit candidate experiences like this. A total of 4 interviews for a $45-50k base job is a little excessive but I went through with it because I was genuinely excited about the opportunity. I do appreciate the team’s kindness and wish the company the best of luck.
