      Product Program Manager Interview

      6 Mar 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Evergy

      Interview

The process began with an application followed by a phone screen conducted via Microsoft Teams (audio only) with a recruiter. The 30-minute conversation covered generic program and product management questions — nothing role-specific or particularly deep. The interaction was neutral and professional. After investing time preparing and completing the interview, I received an automated rejection email from a 'do not reply' address — an address specifically designed to prevent any response or dialogue. No feedback, no explanation, no human follow-up. Not even a name to contact. This is cowardice. A company willing to make personal contact with a candidate should have the courage to deliver a human rejection. Hiding behind an automated system after a live interview is the definition of corporate cowardice — and it disrespects every candidate who invested their time. Evergy treats their interview process the same way they treat their consumers — with indifference, hiding behind systems and automation rather than accountability and human decency. Evergy serves the public every day. You'd hope that would translate into basic human decency in their hiring process. It doesn't. If you apply here, go in knowing that communication is strictly one-way, feedback is nonexistent, and when they're done with you, they'll disappear behind an automated system rather than face you directly

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

"Describe a time you managed a complex program from start to finish." "How do you prioritize competing projects and stakeholder needs?" "Tell me about a time you had to manage a program with limited resources." "How do you measure the success of a program you're managing?" "Walk me through your experience managing cross-functional teams."
