I applied through university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Essar Energy (London, England) in Jan 2011
Interview
I had a very open conversation with the HR manager and he was extremely passionate about the company and hiring good resources. I met with my future manager and the interview was again really frank and open with very few of the standard, run of the mill questions such as 'what are your strengths and weaknesses'. The company clearly targeted highly qualified persons.

I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Essar Energy (Ahmedabad) in Apr 2010
Interview
The interview process was pretty standard. It was an on campus interview. Just one round. Included HR as well as technical questions. Technical Questions repeated, so make sure you ask the people who interviewed in front of you. Mine was for an electrical engineer position. Good focus on power factor topics. Show confidence and you'll be fine.
