      Human Resources Assistant Interview

      13 Jun 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Redlands, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Esri (Redlands, CA) in Apr 2011

      Interview

What a joke. I initally applied for a Receptionist position and the HR woman offered me a HR Assistant interview. It started with an initial phone interview basically gathering info on me and my background and describing the job. Next was the on site interview wherein I completed a typing test and an IQ test (alphabetical filing, definitions, common sense etc...). After taking time off work to interview the interviewer said it would be a week or two before I heard back from her. I sent a Thank You letter after the interview, sent a follow-up a week later, and a phone call two weeks later. Nearly three weeks after my on-site interview I received an e-mail stating that I am no longer a candidate for the position. Over a month process for an Assistant position....a waste of time is really what it seems like. I was extremely excited to see ESRI and be considered for a position but after this long process and the denial e-mail opposed to a phone call for all the time and effort I put in, I really don't think I would even consider working for ESRI anymore. Good luck ESRI.

      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Esri (Redlands, CA) in Nov 2017

      Interview

Long process. First steps included a phone interview with the recruiter and then a week later another phone interview with the department manager. Both interviews were lengthy but I learned lot about the company and the interviewers were enjoyable to speak with. During my second interview I was told about the next steps (which includes an all day in person interview and possibly a fourth with the owner) and that someone would reach out to me before the end of the week. After not hearing from them, I emailed the recruiter and she called first thing that Monday AM. I was told that I was still being highly considered and they were excited to meet me, along with that I would hear from them after the holiday to set up the next process. I waited until a few days after the new year and when I hadn't heard anything, I sent another e-mail and was notified I'd know by early the next week. Well, its early the next week (and almost 1.5 months since first interview) and I still haven't heard back. I decided to just let the process end here unless I hear from them by Friday. It's an exhausting process interviewing with ESRI since I feel like they aren't very organized. However, it has helped me with my interview/follow-up skills. I just wish they would let a candidate know if he/she were a correct match sooner other than dragging them along the way.
