Long process, with 5 interviews from recruiter, to peers, to team lead, head of market and Exec. VP of BD/sales. I was given very positive feedback and it appeared to be a very thoughtful process. Recruiter said my hiring was almost a sure thing on second to last call and discussed compensation, start date, benefits, etc. Asked for references which I supplied, they called two of them that I know of, was told by my references the calls went well. Three days later, recruiter called and said, "we're sorry our priorities had changed and no job offer." I spent over 5 weeks in their process, given every indication I was to be hired and left with "sorry, no offer". Not a very good experience, nor not a good reflection of their hiring practices. Nothing unethical just very disingenuous.
