Overall a typical financial planning position interview, the Vice President that interviewed me was very relaxed and made the process painless. Some of the questions such as "why do you want to be a financial planner?" were a bit vague and when I gave genuine answers it didn't seem to match what Equitable was looking for.

Incredibly easy, they aim to hire anyone with a pulse to sell life insurance and annuities. Beware of the comp structure and ask about the bonus and override your manager will get from all of your work.
Very laid back. I was never asked any question about my job experience or any of the sorts. The interview consisted of a 15 minute conversation of small talk and getting to know the VP of the team you will be working under. The second stage was at the office location where you learn about the company and meet some of the staff.
