The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in Nov 2011
Interview
Well, this is how my story goes! I uploaded my resume at a job site. I was promptly emailed by a recruiter asking me to apply for a software engineer position. I knew I wasn't suited for it because my programming skills are at the beginner level, but I applied anyway. After a few days, I was emailed by HR that they had decided to proceed with other candidates for that position but they asked if I was interested in trying out for this position. I replied with a positive and by the end of that I had a scheduled (1/2 hr) phone interview with a manager who gave me a description of the job and asked me behavioral questions. Then I was scheduled to take a test for which I was told " I needn't prepare for it". Trust me, you should. I made the mistake of not asking people in time and not doing enough research. Plus I was ill prepared for the programming assignment. and that took up most of my time because speed is equally weighed with accuracy! :(
All in all, I know I screwed up this opportunity, but through the whole thing I felt that EPIC would be a great company to work for. The people I interacted with were prompt and nice and they alleviated the tension that comes with waiting.
All in all I was happy with the process but would have been ecstatic if I got the job!
Well Back to the hunt for me!
All the best!
