      Technical Services Problem-Solver Interview

      28 Feb 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Verona, WI
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Verona, WI) in Feb 2019

      Interview

      1) Contacted through Handshake to apply for TS position. I have a biology background, so I was a bit surprised to hear from a software company. The position looked pretty interesting, though, so I applied right away. 2) Submitted an online application, and was emailed 3 hours later to schedule a phone interview. 3) Brief, informative phone screen (~ 20 minutes). - No difficult questions, mostly for you to learn about the positions. 2 hours after I was emailed to schedule my skills assessment. 4) Skills assessment (~2 hours, proctored online). - The assessment timing is intentionally tight for some sections; you might not finish and be fine. - No coding knowledge needed, only verbal and math-based logic and reasoning. Pretty immediately after finishing I was sent the Rembrandt link. 5) Rembrandt personality profile (~30 minutes): personality and logic questions. About 24 hours later I was notified I should schedule an on-site interview, and would interview for both TS and QA, which I scheduled for the following week. 6) On-site interview on a Friday: - Dinner on Thursday, the day I flew in, with other similar position candidates and a current employee - Accommodations were a nice hotel downtown - Food and travel expenses are either covered or reimbursed. - Most of Friday was informative rather than interviews and campus was beautiful, despite that most of your day is spent in the HR building. - Coffee, lunch, and snacks are provided on campus. - There's a coding assessment at the end of the interview, but it's a placement test rather than to determine if you're offered a position. I have really limited coding experience from a biostats class. - Be yourself, relax, and have fun! 7) Job offer the following Wednesday, which I accepted on the spot!

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Epic

      Interview

The interview was fairly easy - asked about my education , why I wanted to work there, about myself, the usual. Was offered the technical interview a few hours after my phone interview. The technical interview was pretty difficult - a lot of math, pattern recognition, and faux code to analyze.
